The Firm advises local and international clients on various aspects of employment and labor law, including relevant requirements, practices, policies and agreements. In addition, the Firm has assisted in the settlement of employment disputes, both through discussion and negotiation as well as through arbitration or litigation when necessary. The Firm also has experience in investigating and advising on civil and criminal consequences of certain actions of employees. The Firm’s labor law and employment practice focuses heavily on labor law related matters encountered during corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, including due diligence reviews of labor and employment related issues, negotiation of relevant contract provisions and preparation of documents and notices for transfers of employees or termination of employment agreements. In this same context as well as more generally, the Firm has substantial experience in drafting of employment contracts, especially between companies and senior executives, and drafting and negotiating non-competition, confidentiality and similar employment related protective agreements. Of particular importance to many international clients, the Firm also has extensive experience in completing the formalities, including the associated follows-up, required for the employment of foreign nationals in Turkey, such as obtaining work and residence permits for foreign employees and their families, consultation on social security and tax rules and regulations and other related legislation and practices.
